Do we bother where we work???

I have seen enough number of people not bothering about what work they are doing after slogging for 3 full years of graduation. They work in jobs that has very little or no reference to what they’ve studied in their Graduation.

We know that India has recently seen a significant growth in the services sector with BPOs and KPOs entering the job market. They have successfully managed to draw a large section of people those who do not have any prior knowledge about the jobs as a part of its employment tactics. Can I blame them? Guess I Cant!

People’s attitude has always been evolving. Earlier they wanted some job with any salary possible for their work put in. But now-a-days, they want a job, that is relevant or irrelevant to what one knows, that which gives them a nice package for less work performed. This is where the current service sector pitches in.

Another scenario of Job rotation has also increased. Earlier people moved jobs based on the experience and knowledge about the field. But now graduation in any discipline and probably good communication skills are a good qualification.

By the end of the day, I guess people would always want to work where they are comfortable. I want to work in an atmosphere that allows me to grow multitude and in an atmosphere that has solid relevance to what I’ve studied earlier. After all what do we study for???
